Hello, and welcome to my art blog from Tasmania, Australia. I've spent time as a plant geneticist, teacher's assistant, painter, glass artist and book illustrator. I'm usually in the studio, the classroom or the lab. If you'd like to see more, please try the links to my folio page or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
I'm having a winter display in the Off Centre gallery window throughout June. To celebrate the season, here are some light-catching polished glass blocks in alpine colours and cheery reds. They were hard to photograph, as they respond to light and I had to try and capture them on a dull day. I'm enjoying the challenge of making things that have three-dimensional colour... there are many ways to make colour move through the block from front to back, and the tiny seed bubbles add an extra dimension. There's nothing like glass!
